Thoughtful Human Partners with the Cancer Support Community and The Mighty to Bring Communication, Resources, Community to Mental Health Awareness Month

[OAKLAND, CA - APRIL 22, 2019] - Thoughtful Human, an Oakland-based greeting card startup, today announced their partnership with the Cancer Support Community (CSC) — the largest nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide that offers $50 million in free services across 175 locations, and The Mighty — the world’s largest digital health community that serves to connect and empower its 2.6 million subscribers.

Each Thoughtful Human Support Series now includes an insert from the CSC and The Mighty offering resources, tips, and stories from caregivers and individuals impacted by these issues. The initiative brings May’s Mental Health Awareness Month to the forefront, offering shoppers sentiments to start and continue conversations around mental health.

“We could not be more excited to bring this program to life with the support of the CSC and The Mighty,” said Ali O’Grady, Thoughtful Human Founder and CEO. “It has never been about stationery—it is about offering actionable tools to help people connect and move through adversity. Our products combined with these partnerships allow just that — active communication, accessible resources, and a passionate, understanding community. This creates a powerful recipe to move us from the grim, overwhelming mental health landscape to a place of action, hope, and healing.”

Through these partnerships, the brand aims to reach the communities most in need and help jumpstart honest conversations.

“Ali’s personal story as a caregiver and how it inspired Thoughtful Human aligns with our mission to ensure that no one faces cancer alone,” said Kim Thiboldeaux, CEO of the Cancer Support Community. “The Thoughtful Human cards are a way to start a conversation and build connections between patients, caregivers, and all people affected by a cancer diagnosis.”

For The Mighty’s founder and CEO, Mike Porath, “It was the people — parents, empathetic doctors, complete strangers — who helped us most,” when his daughter was diagnosed with a rare condition. “We built The Mighty to do the same for others, no matter what they are facing. Thoughtful Human's cards are all about the power of human connection, of letting someone know you're there for them. We're proud to be a part of this."

In addition to the unique content, all cards and bundles are zero waste, plastic free, and made of 100% biodegradable seed paper that can be planted to grow wildflowers. For a full list of locations where Thoughtful Human products are available visit thoughtfulhuman.co.
